It's hard to grasp just how incredible this achievement is in the modern day. From a club derisively called 'Neverkusen' to an achievement that seems virtually impossible to beat.
No Mbappé, no Haaland, no bench filled with hundreds of millions worth of players, ...
Obviously Leverkusen has some amazing players like Wirtz, Grimaldo, Boniface, Frimpong, and a great defense... but from the matches I've seen, they all just work together incredibly well and naturally, like a well-oiled machine.
Hell, Alsonso even turned Xhaka into a a whole new player, and somehow even cooled his relatively frequent red card outburts entirely. Not a single red card for Xhaka this season.

It's probably as close to another Leicester City story as we'll see in the other leagues granted Leverkusen were always a big club in Germany but they legit never won.

120 years of history hut only 2 trophies won before this season.

They had good talent but nobody in a billion years would've expected them to play out of their minds like this over the course a full campaign. 44 matches without a single loss is absurd . No amount of luck can explain that level of consistensy.

Been beyond remarkable, especially considering it's only Xabi's first full season as a manger . He deserves all of the flowers that are gonna come his way, one of the greatest managerial achievements I can remember.

Lolwut

Could've sworn I read in the past that he's never gonna seriously consider a PL job

Not gonna ever believe anything until we hear he's been taking English lessons or something

BULLLLLLLLSHHHHHHHHHHH.....

He waiting on deCHUMPS to leave

If the team really has a problem with him coming out and saying things that we all know are true then why keep putting him to do interviews?

I feel like it's almost exclusively when a Prem heavyweight gets bounced that we harp on 'the best team doesn't win'>D

Each team gets the same 2 legs to either beat the other outright or go through in PK's, that's more than enough opportunity to showcase that superiority on the pitch.

If you can't than tough luck, doesn't make the other team less worthy especially at this stage of the competition. There's no minnows around

Between Omar Berrada, Jean-Claude Blanc and this, they're finally assembling a team of serious people in charge of the football decisions

Hopefully we get the Ashworth announcement next

He got a red card and suspension and decided to finally grow a beard

Wow he looks exactly like his father.
