The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Lollll

So it appears it would be for 100% ownership... Goodbye to all the folks we used to know...

I read Craft of the Patriots is an investor in one of these bids

Crazy how big the UFC has become. That would be the biggest sports franchise sale ever.

I would prefer the Kraft group gets the bid. I don't trust those Chinese dudes.

Crazy how the Clippers alone sold for 2 bil and the entire UFC might get sold for 4 bil, guess it shows the UFC still has a ways to go to be on the big boy pro sports level. But Dana and the Fertittas definitely came up from where they were at, they're good for life after this.

UFC is in it's infant stages. Tough to compare.

i think its difficult for the ufc to get bigger but fighters getting bigger is another story

Apples to oranges comparison.

I've asked this before but why can't you compare apples to oranges? They're both fruit. What fruits are supposed to be compared to each other?

Well you can compare Macintosh to Granny Smiths. or one type of orange to another. You can't compare completely different fruits

There's always room to get bigger. The NFL is still trying to expand. UFC has a long way to go before it becomes as polished as other professional sports.
Man, MMA just became legal in NY this year.

I don't see how the ufc couldn't get bigger and the sport in general

With the youth being more involved all over the world and specifically in the u.s. Any things possible

I think a big step would be for more people to know that the name of the actual sport is mma and not ultimate fighting or ufc. Like no kids say let's play nba if they want to go shoot some hoops.

Showtime is getting throw right into the Featherweight fire. Pettis vs. Charles Oliviera on Aug 27th.
Far from an easy FW debut for "Showtime." His confidence has to be shattered. Wonder where Anthony stands with Duke Roufus and training more at Jackson's. Gil and RDA exposed the blueprint to beat him by pressure fighting and giving no space for Pettis' highlight reel, athletic kicks. I'm not really fully convinced "Showtime" lost to Eddie but still counts as 3 Ls in a row. Pettis definitely has the striking advantage against "do Bronx," but Oliveira is an extremely strong grappler. Would be impressed and satisfied if Pettis KOs Oliveira.

Will Brooks signs with the UFC :smokin
Wanted to see Ill Will and Bendo scrap for the 155 title before Henderson challenged Koreshkov for the WW strap. Both well-rounded guys with versatile games. Couldn't believe when Brooks KOed Chandler to validate his first split victory over him.

He just lost. Has a lot to prove. I'm not all the way sold yet. But this is the dopest **** I've seen from a fighter in a minute.
I'm sold on Aljo. Bit surprised he lost to Caraway but Sterling will be fine moving forward under the tutelage of Serra-Longo. He has the wrestling base and quickly-growing, advancing grappling. Aljo will have to continue improving his stand-up as he gets closer to title contention. It's inevitable Sterling and Garbrandt eventually meet for the 135 belt in some fashion. Cody's a far better boxer but his grappling hasn't been tested in the UFC. Both guys adequate wrestlers. Fun fight if it happens.

pettis has been disappointing. He finally got a matchup with a striker who will keep the fight standing the whole time and he still didn't get off much offense.

BOGGLES my mind that there was no embedded or Road to the Octagon for this card. Very very big main event imo
