The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

The deal isn't bad per say. Nike supplies NFL and soon NBA. Reebok has NHL. Majestic has MLB.

The issue is the fighter/sponsor relationship. For those with a hard hustle or recognizable name, they can make significant money on the side. This "deal" changes that. It's obviously a work in progress. It's not any different than the Fox Sports deal which IMO hurt the UFC in the U.S.

Not everyone can be Rhonda Rhousey and star in movies, be a premium Reebok athlete, appear in ESPN skin issues or show up in the WWE.
exactly, mma brands gave fighters opportunity. But like you said, this is the big leagues so only the best will flourish

That irish fella is such a lame. Someone jokes around back at him and he can't handle it. faber should've dropped him on his head in front of his girl.

I kinda wish his opponent was diaz because he'd punch him if he tried that crap outside the cage.

I think he owns a small portion of it. The Fertittas own 80 something percent, some company owned by the Abu Dhabi government own 10%, and Dana owns the other 9%.

Rather not have the UFC get to the next level if this is the kind of crap we have to endure

Granted the weigh ins were crazy and electric, the lead up has been a joke. That's not how I personally prefer MMA

Crazy how different the UFC has become in only a handful of years. Feel like it was just yesterday that it was UFC 100 and it was already starting to teeter into the theatrical. But it still had the old guard in good form to keep the substance

With all of that said, rooting for Conor even though he's a maniac and weirdo for trying Faber. I legit felt for Faber, he had that hurt look on his face

It's skewed anyway. What percentage of those fans at the weigh ins were Irish? Probably like 80% at least

Don't get me wrong, I think it's incredible how the Irish have supported Conor but like Rusty said, I don't think it's the general American or international fans that have come out in herds to see Conor

With the new drug policies of the UFC going into effect July 01, Aldo wasn't gonna make weight and so he made up an excuse.  McGregor might of made weight but he might suffer the consequences at UFC 189.  I think he cuts like 30lbs for his fights..  #Crazy

Mendes is gonna show the world that he's the real deal with a 2nd round knock out!

Brown vs Means might be the fight of the night!  #Brown

Thatch vs Nelson should be a good one as well...  #Thatch
