I can admit I just thru a precision shot towards Vincent ... It was just to rustles his Jimmies - mission accomplished.

Why do you say that?

And did anyone else get the vibe that Nate might have just taken this fight for the money? I get the hard dude attitude "Idgaf" and whatnot, but he legit just didn't even care about much going on but the trash talking.

I meant wishful thinking as in Nate getting inside Conor's head

Idk, I just didn't see anything substantial coming from Nate. Dude had his lisp and was just blurring out random ****

I know some people hate his act, but the fact this dude is willing to fight anytime, at any weight, is fun as hell.
Commendable but don't forget the modern "pioneers," Cowboy and Bendo. Those two were/are willing to fight on moment's notice. Cerrone and Henderson didn't just say it either, they did it and proved their worth as company men over and over. Although UFC didn't take care of Bendo in his most recent contract negotiations, incentivizing instead of rewarding. Also hit Cowboy with a hefty fine for the non-sponsorship patch, despite the understandable reasoning. Purposefully made an example of him.

That's what impresses me the most. Dude is a legend in that regard. Moving up 2 weight classes to take a fight that does nothing for him. He has everything to lose and not much to gain aside from brownie points.
While true, let's also factor in Conor probably not wanting to waste the training camp he physically and mentally invested into preparing for RDA. Meaning McGregor was 11 days away from fighting, he's in shape and ready to rock, no sense in losing another monster payday. Plus I truly believe Nate Diaz is a handpicked opponent. Diaz matches up terribly stylistically against Conor.

Who, Conor? Let's not make this out to be some feat if Conor beats Nate freakin Diaz on two weeks notice, lol
A point some of the ardent McGregor supporters are failing to recognize. I doubt Nate Diaz was in any type of serious training camp, don't think he was booked against any opponent. His weight was seemingly an issue in the contract negotiations if there's truth to Nate not being able to make 160-165 pounds for a catchweight bout. This is Conor's easiest fight on paper dating back to Siver and Brandao, can throw Brimage in there as well. Diaz didn't check a single leg kick against RDA, he was wobbly and barely standing after 15 minutes. Nate's and Nick's strengths are volume boxing and slick BJJ. Nate Diaz does not have one-punch KO power to shock McGregor. I seriously doubt his cardio is up to par without camp to endure 25 minutes of an intense bout, at 170 pounds or lesser weight. When is Nate going to use his jiu-jitsu against Conor? McGregor implements no offensive wrestling, and neither does Diaz. The fight will not take place on the mat. It will be a stand-up war and that will ultimately be to Conor's advantage. McGregor is more powerful with the possibility for one-strike knockouts, and also faster with his strikes than Nate Diaz. Conor, TKO 1. Book it. Nate is collecting a massive paycheck to be a late replacement. Didn't have to train or endure a grueling camp/cut. Nate's going to show up, taunt, move forward in the stand-up and get dominated like RDA/Bendo did to him. I will give anyone Nate at +400 on up to $1K.

Conor honestly does look jacked. It's a miracle dude can cut down to 45 seeing as to how much muscle he can actually pack on

Nate brought up a decent point about "fighting midgets". Although Conor has beat Dustin and Holloway.. it'll be fun to see him go up against a longer opponent. Holloway is almost 6 foot and fought him to a decision, albeit Conor tore his knee midway through the fight

I hope it's 5 round war, I want Conor to win but I wouldn't care if he lost. Nate is a vet he needs to screw his head on right and fight. Stop whining and complaining and do what you signed up for.

No disagreement there. Khabib, Pettis and Cerrone all stepped up and he chose the one that wasn't in a fight camp or fight shape.

Not saying McGregor is scared but he is definitely a smart business man. He wouldn't dare fight any of tgem without a camp dedicated to preparing for the particular individual. I don't buy a word he says about not training for an opponent.

The reporters really miss the boat to stir up some drama at times. They easily could have asked what happened with Khabib, Pettis and Cerrone. Could have framed it like Conor was scared and most certainly would have got some colorful answers

Nate clearly is a handpicked opponent by Conor and/or Dana

Pettis just looked like a bum. Diaz already beat Ceronne. Khabib has a main event on Fox the UFC didn't want to back out of. And even after all of them would have taken an L, you folks would have just made another execuse anyway.

I'll give you Pettis but Diaz beat Cowboy five years ago, don't think that holds any weight on the current situation. Especially considering that A, Cowboy is already in shape after a short fight and B, Diaz is in terrible shape, considering he couldn't even make 160 or 165 with zero fight camp

Khabib or Ferguson could have easily stepped in, and have Pettis step in to take his spot. I do understand that Conor going from a title to a non title fight is risky though

Rewatched Nate vs gomi.

Beautiful beautiful ending sequence for the submission. The BJJ of the Diaz brothers is often overlooked

No it isn't, IMO, it's just that they frustratingly don't use it enough. Everyone knows they possess exceptional skills on the ground

It might not hold weight but it was addressed at the press conference which was your initial point. Conor flat out said Ceronne has been to the spin cycle in all of his big fights.

Right, but in essence, they could have followed up with the "well that was five years ago" question, how does that make that much of a difference today
