Wanted to know about people calling about sneakers

Why do some sellers on ebay ask to call or text for a better deal? Just wanted to know because I don't want to get myself into anything or get scammed and not have proof so I'm asking

They wanna do it via paypal only because FEEBAY is a bit ridiculous with their fees. I'm the same way when I buy stuff form ebay. I contact the seller to save them on fees and get a better price for me. You're still protected via paypal and I'm pretty sure ebay owns paypal so they're basically double-dipping on the fees thru an auction.

I do the same way, except if someone reports me and have my listing taken down by ebay due to "offering outside ebay" thing... Now all i do is jack the price up and wait for biyers to offer me...and post "if you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me." 8/10 i have people offering me through email and through paypal.
