There are 2 things that always amuse me on this topic:

1. Those people saying "British" when there's no such thing. Maybe they're thinking of English - but even that isn't really a thing. For a fairly small country (or group of countries) there is a huge amount of regional variation.

Think about Cheryl Cole - she probably doesn't have what you would think of as an English accent - but she is from Newcastle which is less than 300 miles away. There is a whole lot of variation in there too - and they're not even similar.

There's even more variation if you add in Scotland and Wales.

2. People who say they speak with "no accent". That always makes me laugh as they are usually the ones with the most ridiculous exaggerated accent. That's just delusional - sure some accents are more extreme than others - but that doesn't make one any more correct than another.
 
west-indies accents...especially the british west-indies accents
true irish accents on girls because its so damn jumbled up it kinda sounds west-indian

thai/malaysian/indonesian
 
If this thread was posted on a different board dominated by a different country (not USA), where do you think american accents would rank?
