parka in an upcoming September release. Combining a 2L Storm Fit material with many of NSW's technically innovative production processes, this looks to be
another solid bit of design from the Nike Sportswear apparel team led by Jarrett Reynolds.

The NSW M51 Parka The M51 Parka draws inspiration from the all-weather military silhouette with an innovative Nike twist. Linerless 2L Storm Fit keeps the M51 light and capable no matter the mission, while laser cut pocket detailing and laser cut perforated pit vents make the M51 a Parka unlike any other. 1951 spawned a military-issue style icon. Initially designed for the freezing conditions of the Korean War, the M-51 was quickly adopted as the uniform of a youth movement. To understand the M-51 Parka's influence one need only look to the post WWII youths of Great Britain. Battle-tested and in pursuit of honest experience, they were passionate about American rock-n-roll and R&B, British café racers and Italian scooters. What started with the Teddy Boys evolved to become the Ton Up Boys and the Coffee Bar Cats, and would later give rise to the Rockers and the Mods. With a focus on clean style and a continual reincarnation of modern aesthetics, ideals, and fashion, the Mods adopted the M51 Parka as the preferred outerwear piece - first by necessity and later by choice. Forged through a shared passion for innovation, meticulous craftsmanship, and authentic, high-quality fleece, the partnership between Nike Sportswear's NSW Collection and Japan's Loopwheeler continues with a series of products in premium loopback French terry fleece.
The fleece used for all NSW Loopwheeler products-is knitted on the brand's rotating looms through a process that holds its heritage as close as Nike holds its own. The yarn on the loopwheel never comes under tension, resulting in a relaxed fabric that is supremely soft. Under the watchful eye of Loopwheeler's craftsmen, a mere handful of Loopwheeler fleece garments can be made from the material produced each day. After the fleece is hand-cut and flat-lock stitched to insure comfort and durability, the results are nearly impossible to match.
