I'll chill with a female's family when I see potential for marriage, and not a second sooner. Other than that, I'm good either chilling at home or picking up a shift at work. Christmas isn't a big deal to me, and if I had a choice I'd probably say no to hanging out even with my family. When I know that I'll be annoyed, I usually try to avoid the situation all together. While I know it's "morally wrong" of me to feel this way, I really do despise some of my family members. I mean... I have family that have handicap permits just because they won't take care of their own health (the family claims "thyroid problems," but we all know it isn't true.) They had to get ramps installed at their crib because they can't walk up the steps. And I'm supposed to cater to them by bringing them food? Think about how awful the Knicks backcourt is, think about ice cream...it doesn't matter. For 5-10 seconds out of your day, you can think about not offending those who you are being company to. If that's how they get down (blessing their food), let them do them. I swear sometimes people out there make things more difficult than they should.
