HISTORY
The Air Jordan XVs are one of the most disliked Jordan models. Which may be a contributing factor to the lack of retros produced. The XVs were originally released from 1999–2000. This was the very first shoe released after Michael Jordan retired from the Chicago Bulls on January 13th 1999.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration for the Air Jordan XV originated from the aircraft prototype X-15 fighter jet, which was developed by NASA during the 1950s. Much like Jordan himself; the fighter jet was known for breaking various records, one being the highest speed ever reached by a manned, powered aircraft. Its maximum speed was 4,520 miles per hour.
The intricate tongue on the XV represents the symbolism of Michael Jordan who used to always stick his tongue out during his games. The Air Jordan XV is also inscribed with “23/6/15” down the heel in recognition of Jordan's jersey number/ championships won/model number of AIR JORDAN.

I chose this Air Jordan Model because it is by far one of my favorite and one of the most underrated Jordans of all time.
