Here is a picture of my ML2002RC. I think it is a pretty neutral shade of grey. For comparison here is a picture of the ML2002RC with the M992J2 “mushroom” which clearly has a lot of brown in it.

M992EC aka "Grandpa" Another very similar colorway is the M992BW (below). The only difference appears to be the N Logo. In the M992EC the N Logo is dark navy with white edges. In the M992BW, the N Logo is Silver 3M with dark blue edges.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I had to hunt for my M990DC5s in my shoe closet... As you can see in the pictures below, the mesh is definitely a dark navy blue. The suede is a dark green.
