I think if you swapped in a pair of regular AM1 soles, you'd be fine. But wearing these on the streets would be tough to pull off and probably unconfortable outside of a golf course.
Warm temperatures, exposure to light, contact with paper, and cleanliness of area all contribute to how our DS/Unworn pairs degrade/age as they sit in their cardboard boxes. Humid air and even minimal light exposure can unbrighten whites in no time.
The toe box on these AM1's will probably crease less than a pair with a mesh toe. Once they get dirty, it'll be no easier to clean than a typical AM1 except for the chance of pulling a snag out of the material.
Off topic: Does Asics make a shoe with a toe box as exposed or open as an AM1?
Ok. Using another example of the Anniversary AM1:
My opinion is that they're fakes. I could be completely wrong in my assessment, considering all I have to go by are the pictures that have been provided.
I believe those are fakes.
#1: Swoosh logo entry point is off. Should not be that high.
#2: The cut of that section is too straight. Authentic pairs have a slight curve when terminating at the midsole.
#3: The cut at that point is too low.
To compare:
No speckles....
But even if you do decide to get them with grey speckles, they probably wont be that noticeable unless viewed up close so it wont negatively impact the colorway you chose.
