Visited Paris over the weekend and found these two in LMDW. Usually more into Scotch but with 89 for the Blanton's and 39 for the WellerbI couldn't pass up. Meanwhile, all the Scotch was ridiculously overpriced.

That is insane, I paid almost double that for the same amount of Hibiki 17 last year. Did you try it?

It's nice but overpriced. Value wise I consider the Harmony a 40/50 dollar whisky, but it's nice and inoffensive I guess. In that price range, looking at blends I would definitely take a Dewar's 21 yo over the Hibiki.

Nice, they still look fresh! Always good to see a pair like that, mine are pretty yellowed by now.

Love the Doublewood 17, but it seems to be slowly disappearing. Plus the bottles that are left have almost doubled in price.

Not all tour guides are created equally lol :lol: especially in the summer season when the regular guides are on holiday.

There are a lot of rules regarding Scotch Whisky, but the amount of distillations isn't one of them. So triple distilled whisky can still be Scotch Whisky (Auchentoshan for instance distills 3 times). It is not common in Scotland though.

Picked up these 2 blends. The Compass Box is a mix of 23 YO Macallan, 25 YO Highland Park, 37 YO Caol Ila and some other other 25/26 YO whiskies. Seeing as both Compass Box and Dewar's haven't disappointed me in the past, I'm hoping these will be worth it.

11's indeed. For me they weren't that bad but a lotta people complained.

Picked up these two yesterday. The Glendronach is a 2018 batch. Caperdonich is a ghost distillery which I was hearing good things about.

I didn't even know it retails for 99... That's crazy, I thought retail was already a couple hundred. Nice come up indeed

Having a little Japanese and Indian tasting tonight. In order: Hibiki Japanese Harmony Hibiki 12 The Nikka 12 Hibiki 17 Taketsuru 17 Amrut Greedy Angels 10 yo Some damn fine whiskies. The Hibikis were good but would never pay what they go for right now. Taketsuru 17 is a little better value...

I usually grab the Norlan glasses, except for these kind of sessions. Smell is a lot more pronounced with these.
