I would say you shouldn't. Retro/Older jordans are out of date now as far as bball technology goes. Why play in those when you got Zoom Air and Carbon Fiber shank plates? I think the older Jordans are more casual shoes than ever than bball shoes now.

The stuffed tongue makes the shoe real tight. The length i would say is a tad bit smaller than "true to size." I'm a 8.5 in Jordans, Lebron IVs and AF1s. And i fit snuggly into a 9.

New Balance has somekind of bball shoe that uses the "zip" technology. Check it out...

I would actually have to say it depends on the Nike SB or the Jordan. For Jordans 8.5 is a perfect fit length wise for me. For Dunk Sb lows for example. Those are more like a 9 or a 9.5 due to the narrowness. If you have narrow feet, get .5 or a full size bigger in Dunks. The Zoom Tres also I...

Get a shoe that is for a wing. Like a Kobe II or Lebron Soldier should be fine. Cause if you're playing both the guard and post then something in between is best. Or get a guard shoe and use it as a motivation to lose weight! Haha.

Wear it and it should stretch out a bit. But if it's unbearable... get a size up.
