On the flipside, you could look at it like Kobe & Co. would take pressure off Nash, allowing him to play more minutes.
Again...Sessions very well could have left our team either way, in that scenario we would have Steve Blake and Darius Morris. Steve Blake for 20 mins > Steve Blake for 38.
We have Nash and Blake under contract..what would be the point of bringing Sessions back? He wouldn't be happy in a backup role.
Our focus should be on a 2/3 that can spell Kobe & hit an open shot (maybe Grant Hill) and a backup big man (Jordan Hill may be signing with another team)
So you'd rather have the trade exception?
Our backup point guard is now the guard who was about to be our starting point guard (Steve 'Jiu Jitsu' Blake).
The possibility of Nash helping Pau/Stella find his groove back > trade exception.
We need a 2/3 shooter now to help space the floor. Grant...
I don't think Kobe could physically carry Shaq like that...unfair argument
Could Shaq win without Kobe? Sure, he did it in Miami.
Could Kobe win without Shaq? Sure, he did it twice with Pau.
I'm not sitting here arguing who was more important...I think they were equally important myself. Who...
Be that as it may, Shaq also said that he was the big brother and Kobe was the little brother. Based upon the numbers both individuals put up during the regular season and playoffs when they won those titles Shaq couldn't have been MORE right in regards to the big brother/little brother...
1. Look up YouTube videos of the Finals games the Sonics actually won. Jordan still got to his spots and was missing shots he usually makes. Do we give the Sonics/GP credit? Sure, but to say they shut him down is a bit preposterous.
2. As I clarified in my very next reply, those commas were not...
They're remembered the same as your Sonics team: not champions. Unfortunately for you, that's the best GP and Reign Man ever did in their NBA career...while Duncan is widely considered the greatest PF of all time in terms of talent and accomplishments.
Again, I didn't say Duncan was better...
I didn't mean for those commas to denote inclusivity. But yes, a Sonics team that had a great regular season is definitely more memorable than Tim Duncan .
Tim Duncan > Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, George Karl, the color green, Space Needle, etc.
The Spurs were a dynasty; the Sonics were a highlight in the Bulls 90s DVD.
The way you guys downplay certain accomplishments (Lakers, LeBron, etc) is dumbfounding.
Is MJ's legacy tarnished at all for retiring to play (and suck) at minor league baseball?
Like I said earlier....retiring early on your team, fans, etc. is worse to me, than going in front of the cameras and saying you're exercising your right as a free agent to go to a better team.
Isn't retiring to play another sport and leaving your team worse than leaving a team as a free agent? It's unreal how much stuff everyone, myself included, overlooks when it comes to MJ.
Imagine LeBron retiring in a few years. Or Kobe retiring a few years back.
