Any Primatologists on NT? vol. Cognitive Enrichment for Chimps

I'm at the Little Rock Zoo (in Arkansas), and it's not "research", in a lab sense. We're not supposed to teach them any human behaviors, because it promotes antisocial chimp behavior. The former pet chimp in the videos cannot go out with the rest of the troop because the alpha doesn't accept...

Any Primatologists on NT? vol. Cognitive Enrichment for Chimps

it is, but I really cant talk to too many people about it, because either they are caught up in the whole "I didnt come from no monkey" mess, or they just don't get it. here's a link to my dropbox folder if you wanna check out some videos of me stepping on one of the adolescent chimp's fingers...

Any Primatologists on NT? vol. Cognitive Enrichment for Chimps

I'm doing this research internship at my local zoo working with great apes, and I develop enrichment activities for gorillas, orangs, and chimps. The orangs are probably the smartest of all the great apes, but chimps exhibit more humanlike personalities and characteristics, which makes them...

    TED Talks Appreciation Thread

There is nothing else on the internet quite like TED talks, simply because of the broad spectrum of ideas that they cover. I learn something awesome every time I watch, and I think if everyone watched them, it would open their minds up a bit. Just wanted to see if anybody else on NT watches...

On Lying To Women, and Whether It's Necessary at Times

so i apologized for lying, and basically said that I would tell the whole truth, regardless of whether it hurt or not. we agreed on this, and then later on, she asked me if i wanted to take couples pics this weekend. i replied with a swift "absolutely not". after this, she asked if I would...

On Lying To Women, and Whether It's Necessary at Times

The thing is, she doesn't. I know everybody lies, but she doesn't, and if she does, I genuinely don't care either way. I don't like bull----ers, and it bothers me to be the person that I really don't wanna interact with.

On Lying To Women, and Whether It's Necessary at Times

I should also add that I've cheated on her before, about a year ago. This is where the distrust stems from. I was remorseful for that, and didn't do it again. My dilemma at this point is whether my energy would be better spent patching holes in this boat, or finding a new boat.

On Lying To Women, and Whether It's Necessary at Times

She saw the group pics a few hours ago, and sent me a text that reads, "you are a F-- liar!!! and you wonder why I don't trust you..." I told her I lied because I was trying to avoid the b--------, and bam... b-------- commences. If I felt like I could tell her the truth, I would, no doubt...

On Lying To Women, and Whether It's Necessary at Times

I went to a birthday party for one of the homies this past weekend, and my girl asked me where the party was. It started at the barber shop, then we went to the club. I told her I went to the barber shop, but not the club, which was a lie. I didn't do anything wrong at the club, didn't even...

    mehh..

Being a troll doesn't make you look smart or cool; it just makes you a bully to those that aren't capable of a more evolved way of thinking. If you're looking to ruffle feathers, you're just as guilty as the people you attempt to troll.

live a good life. If God is just, he will reward you for it regardless. If he is unjust and does not accept this, he isn't worthy of your worship. If there is no God, you still leave a good legacy for your loved ones. -Marcus Aurelius

Anyone Know How to Write Code

i consider myself a fairly tech savvy person, and writing code (other than HTML or CSS) always seemed like a daunting task. I know how it works from dealing with warez back in the day, but I never took the time to geek out for 6-8 months and completely isolate myself from the outside world...
