For everyone asking about the platform doors...
My job is in transportation and although not really related to metro trains I occasionally touch on it...I do know that earlier this year or late last year the MTA was thinking about running a pilot for platform doors at the 14th and 6th L stop...

Pretty sure it stays on your credit report even if you do pay it. I think they just update the status to closed or settled or whatever. Not sure how that difference affects your score. I would think they would settle for 25-40% but as others have said it might not be worth paying at all this point
honestly buy him some beer or scotch and sit with him and discuss his growing up and music etc. You should know this stuff about your Dad and its way more thoughtful and meaningful for you both than some tracks

I think the future of education and especially e-learning is not University of Phoenix or Devry but private certificate and other unaccredited programs. In reality the accreditation doesn't mean anything as long as the institute is respected and accepted in the market. I don't think its IT/MIS...
Get a lawyer, end of story. Your point #1 shows you have no understanding of the law (and frankly the rest shows your lack of appreciation for how serious this could be). It is important enough to talk/spend on a professional.
