Other than Ramadan Karim, he had an injury plagued season that was capped by the disaster against City. Yes RM would love to have him as a stopgap before Mbappe is a free agent in ‘24 and Haaland might also be available. But maybe he realizes he can’t compete for a whole additional season at the highest level. Especially after having no proper backup and getting run to the ground these last few seasons. Maybe if he did it would have let him put off this Saudi proposal off for a year.
