 It will be great to really expose just how bad a manager the dotard has become. Can Barca just take Vinicius now? That poor kid is going to have his confidence wrecked by that POS.

So after Ajax vanquished Madrid, all the top Barca brass were drooling over Dutch john stones. bart appeared on Cadena SER (Catalan radio), stating the club "believes" there is money to acquire him but the caveat was always if he had the desire to come to Camp Nou. He intimated that the Dutch kid wants to come to Barca now...

@champcruthik - My mans... :pimp: You made mention that john stone was a top CB in the league... He doesn't appear in any of the measurable statistical categories whatsoever... Some might like him & that's cool, but numbers are numbers... There are more defensive stats to (where his name also doesn't appear) but these were the more apropo.

Anyone who has actually watched Stones play this season would know there have only been two defenders better than him in the league and that's Van Dijk and Laporte. Van Dijk only shows up in two of those measurables and thats clearances at 9th and aerial battles at 6th and Laporte shows up in none yet Va Dijk is the leader for player of the year in somes eyes and Laporte has been world class so what do those measurements actually mean what do they actually show....What those stats really show you is which teams and players have to sit back and defend alot of shots in matches so of course their last man tackles, interceptions and clearances will be higher. Its alot of Cardiff defenders at the top of those lists but last i checked they in the relegation zone and no one would say they have a good defense or any top defenders in the league. And you really cant measure defenders that play in sides that keep the ball the large majority of the time like City or Liverpool cause their defenders arent gonna show up as much in the top 10 of last man tackles and interceptions cause they have usually been dominating and controlling the ball the entire match from the back keeping and recycling possession like Van dijk, Stones and Laporte do.

So to use that as another way to try and say stones isnt actually that good doesnt make sense. By that logic, Van Dijk and Laporte haven’t been that good either

Being a Pep fan, I peep City games from time to time especially CL games. He still shows terrible lapses in concentration especially clearing the ball. Absolute meathead of a kid. There is nothing you can do to convince me to make me think otherwise.

:rofl:Comparing him to VvD... It's evident when you watch VvD that he's a class CB in everything he does. There's just no comparison to make whatsoever.

I know you hate me Armada Armada , but this isn't an indictment on you. I think highly of you, but not this stones character...

You peep city games from time to time I watch every single one I would say it’s fair to say someone that watches every game a player hasn’t played would be a better judge of their progression. Every defender has a lapse in concentration from time to time it’s impossible to make the right decision every single time throughout an entire season. But he has greatly minimized those lapses from early on his Everton days and his first season at city. And I didn’t compare him to Van Dijk I literally said Van Dijk is better as is Laporte. What I said was those are the only two better than him. I don’t hate you I just think you made up your mind early on about stones and refuse to acknowledge the clear as day progression in his development to being one of the top CBs in the premier league.

Do you even realize the players with most tackles, interceptions, last man tackles all fall under the mid table to bottom table clubs? City possess 60%-70% how do you expect the numbers of City's defenders to be at the top when they dont even defend much? No top 6 clubs in the BPL's defenders are on those lists besides Robertson, VVD, and Azpi. What surprises me the most is Felipe Anderson is up there in tackles as a LW.

By your logic, the best defenders all belong to teams who are constantly defending to have those stats. But numbers are numbers :rolleyes

Dudes in here puffin’ they chests now.

I mean as crap as Serie A has been the last several yes they moved to 2nd place for a short bit earlier this campaign & look how close they are to the Prem.

Talmbout best league... :smh: Come back when the league takes the #1 spot after the 5 yr scale those pts are based on.

Serie A? You serious bro?

Stop looking at coefficients and start looking at what is happening right in front of you. Serie A probably won't have any teams in the QF of the UCL. Juve, who is down 0-2 on aggregate, is their only hope. If all goes well, La Liga will have 2 clubs max. But then again, with the way things have been going this tourney it's possible that they're left with none. Da Prem, on the other hand, already has two teams in the QF. One beat the league leaders in France and the other beat the league leaders in Germany. Keep in mind that these are the 3rd and 4th placed teams in England. Next week, it is very possible (and I would say probable) that two more English clubs will join them in the QF. This would mean that half of the remaining field is from da Prem.

So yeah, miss me with those rankings. Do you even know how they're calculated?

No I know very very well how they are calculated but that last sentence of yours shows clearly that you don’t.

I have access to the Internet just like you, this isn't exactly top secret information:
The ranking below takes into account of each association's performance in European competitions from 2014–15 to 2018–19, with the 2018–19 season currently taking place.

Everyone knows that Emery's Sevilla and Zidane's Real Madrid dominated the two major European competitions during that time span. Where are those clubs now though? I'm talking about the present old man.
