2007/08 NOR CAL SNOWBOARD SEASON vol ITS SNOWING!!!

was up at northstar, not all the lifts were open, summit was open. tons of people on the weekend. going to heavenly or kirkwood this weekend. CANT WAIT!!!

Went to Northstar yesterday and it was full of snow! I just chilled in the powder area in the baby area and made myself a ramp to learn some jumps. Theprevious storm system left some good snow and with these freezing temps none of the snow left. There's supposed to be snow all next week, so that shouldbe good.

^^How Was Sierra Ludex??^^
I'm going to Northstar at an ungodly hour tomorrow morning. I just set up my first board - a Palmer Burn 162 w/ some Burton Bindings and Oakley Gogs. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, so I'll be floating on powder in a matter of hours!!

there was some snow but my favorite run had some dry spots so i scrapped my board up a bit, other then that i had a good time, the lifts were pretty dead so iliked not waiting in line

that's the best....no lines for the lift. worst part of going up to the snow is waisting most of your time waiting to get on a lift. glad to hear that youhad a good time though. i think ima have to go up first thing after new years.

Has anyone been up to the snow this week? I'm guessing there's chain control what with all the snow that's dumping right now, but was wondering ifthe drive is managable.

^^^I just made a burn out mission to Northstar yesterday. It's definitely manageable if you've got a good set of chains and a strong will

There waschain control over Donner Pass for about 30 miles, so that added a couple hours to the trip, but it was well worth it. It was a great day to be at Northstar,it wasn't hardly crowded(no lines at all), it snowed the entire time I was riding and there was fresh powder from the morning. I had a great time, and mynew board is perfect for me-I did dent the nose a bit when I cased a box and did a back slide across the whole thing though

No Jibfest for me thank you. I will be going back soon, and I'll definitely be back at Northstar a couple more times this season.

I went to donner ski ranch (the small beginner joint across from sugar bowl) and it was pure powder...

The powder with the storm made for a unique boarding experience.

There's tons of snow up there, tommorow will be sunny, so im going out to Boreal.

just cool prices.... i just got back from northstart last night, so much powder. the back side was nice and the park was sick untill late afternoon, alot ofthe landings were dug out, due to people fallin.

what's the closest resort to the bay besides boreal? i usually go to sierra but want to start boarding at other places. any suggestions of a resort that isas far as sierra or closer?

I'm ready to go again, forecast says there's chance of snow tomorrow, friday and saturday. Sunday seems like a good day to go, what South Lake(otherthan sierra) resort would anyone recommend?

There's Heavenly which is near the casinos and Kirkwood which IMO is the best resort out of all of them. Kirkwood is a little of an extradrive cause you gotta drive off of 50, but it's definitely worth it on a pow day. I say it's about an hour to 45 minutes away from Sierra. WhileHeavenly is 30 minutes. But to warn ya if you don't have any discounted lifties, Heavenly and Kirk are mad expensive. About 70-75 for a lift ticket.

I've always heard that Kirkwood is the best, but I don't know the geography of LT very well. Thanks for the tip lorigina, I've been meaning tocheck out Kirkwood for a couple seasons now. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Just got 2 lift tickets to Kirkwood for Xmas. Gotta drive out that way now. Heard its a%#$!*@# drive with a good chance of the 50 being closed due to snow. ButI hear its the best resort outta all of em.

^^ Kirkwood is def. out of the way compared to other resorts, but it should be worth it. Make sure to check out The Wall off the Wagon Wheel lift. =)

Nice Smokey1212, I got 2 lift tickets for Kirkwood for Christmas too!! Haha. Hopefully I can make it up there this Sunday and drop into "The Wall"

Personally, I don't wanna go on a day when it's snowin, but afterwards get ready for some powder.

I have plans to go to Boreal this weekend, but it says it will heavily be snowing. Is it still worth going?

I have never been when it's been snowing, but I have friends who say that if its just snowing its not terrible; you just can't see too well. However, if it gets windy and snowy, apparently its terrible.

My friends and I are waiting to see what the weather forecast is tomorrow, so we know what to do.

My uncle is going to be giving me his 04' Burton board, but we're different shoe sizes. Does anybody know where i can get some well priced boots? Doesit also mean i need new straps? Always rented so I dont know much about owning a board.

But when i go to college, I'm going to get a pass for the winter

check out sierrasnowboard.com or if you're local to the city, check out SportsBasement. I'm not too sure if they still have deals on everything. but itwill be cheaper.

going up to SLT for a 5 day trip. i say, let that %*%$ rain now, and let me at least enjoy a couple days!
