That delay of game call was quick as heck!!! FSU playing good so far, the play calling inside the 5 on the drive where FSU turned the ball over on downs was a little suspect though.

Dalvin Cook is a beast though. He's gonna rip off a long touchdown before the end of this game though.

You guys are arguing that somehow throwing a flag for a penalty FSU actually committed is unfair, because they should have given them an extra second or two.

It makes no sense. If things were reversed and a team you weren't rooting for was allowed to snap the ball 1-2 seconds after the clock hit :00 and scored a TD there, you'd be complaining the refs blew the call.

Anticipating it or not, FSU committed the penalty. Complaining about a "quick delay of game" call when FSU actually committed the delay of game penalty they were flagged for doesn't make sense.

From what I understand of the rule, and how the refs try to enforce it, is the umpire on the field (or one of them) keep the time on the field. When their clock hits 0 then they're taught to look up at the playclock in the stadium and if it reads zero, they blow the whistle. That's why there's usually a delay for delay of game calls.
