China duplication game is something serious. Sneakers, high end fashion, and electronics. They have whole stores that look exactly like Apple stores with products that are almost exactly like Apple products but the stores names are Apple Stores. The replication is so good some employees didn’t even realize they weren’t working for an actual Apple store.
 
While it wasn’t mainland China, 10 years ago I went to Hong Kong, & I couldn’t believe the bootleg stuff they had at their night markets. Fake PSP with fake games.

At that point you might as well just name it something else, but the “Sony” name is what helped them sell.
