When Tuned Air launched in the fall of 1998 they were exclusive to Footlocker family and Champs Sports. Footaction was not part of Footlocker Inc. back then, thus they were not part of the official launch. Footlocker and Champs Sports had an exclusive agreement to carry the runner(Air Max Plus), trainer andbasketball(Air Tuned Uptempo) models first. I think it was exclusive for 1 year. I worked at Champs Sports back then and it was a pretty big deal. You sawother retailers like Athlete's Foot carry the Tuned Force and Air Tuned Max which featured a Total Air "air-unit" with tuned pods in the entireheel. Below is a link to the company that created the hemispherical pods that were combined with Nike Air to create "Tuned Air."

MenOfOregon, I want to be an EKIN!! I have applied too many times to get overlooked. Trust me I know my stuff!

The part Men of Oregon is not sensing is that in his original post, telling others not to call the "air unit" a bubble is condescending.

Basically, Men of Oregon, i for one appreciate the little tidbits of info, but 99% of all nike air users will call the air unit a bubble, and will continue to.

I'm sorry, I could've sworn that THIS was my original posting about that:

"Our designers, engineers, scientists, testers, EKINS, etc. don't like the use of the word "bubble" to describe ourAir Units. It is not a "bubble". A bubble is what you blow from chewing gum. It is called an Air Unit. With respect to their collegedegrees in various sciences, hard work, and countless hours of research, we prefer to use the proper name when referring to our AirUnits.(Encapsulated Air, Visible Air, Tuned Air, Max Air, Tube Air, Blow Molded Air, Zoom Air) Thanks!"

It CLEARLY says that we don't like the word "bubble". AND also, it CLEARLY says that we prefer to use theproper name. Some of you fail to read it correctly, or purposely twisted my words around to cause a stir. I merely said that that's what it was calledsince the beginning. I don't see how that's condescending at all...???

Good job on some of you turning this post into an uproar, as usual. Why must information always be "battled" or confronted? Why can't theinformation just be read, processed, and moved on? Like I've stated before, call it what you will, but please don't confront or "battle" meabout the name because there is no need to "battle" about it. It's the name ORIGINALLY given and used since it's first inception back in1979.

Thank you to the few of you that read the info., processed it, took it into consideration, decided not to waste your time making an uproar because youmistakenly thought you were being disrespected or the info. was condescending, and moved on with the post.

Yes, you're correct. Those statements really are condescending. They don't seem like regular statements at all. -smh-

Enough of the deviation from this topic, as usual. I prefer not to get into it with some of you because it tends to get to a ridiculous level, as seen beforeon here. Some of you know who you are.

If anyone felt like it was a condescending statement, I apologize. But please read and analyze the statement thoroughly, and please don't addwords of your own that aren't really present in the original statement. It makes for an unneeded discussion. Thank you.

P.S., the next person to post a negative retaliation after this is clearly after "something else" on this board, or has issues and refuses to keep itdown. I'm not engaging in that "something else" with them. Let's please try to keep it informational for the benefit of everyone and movealong from it. Like someone said, "it's not that serious".

Sparq designs are nice but they're too low in the back for me. My heel won't stay in those shoes.

solefulone, I don't dispute that you "know your stuff", and your desire to be an EKIN is appreciated. The key is to not giveup. Be persistent! It's the only way.

But keep in mind that being an EKIN means not only knowing our footwear, but knowing our apparel, accessories, vision, timing, technologies, processes, company protocol, AND history and heritage "inside and out" as well. It's quite a bit of info to learn. In addition to doing a lot of travelling, establishing good relationships with your accounts, and having good "people skills". If you're up to the challenge then by all means, keepapplying!

I'm assuming you have a narrow heel? If so, that's a common issue. I suggest you re-adjust the lacing on the shoes. Try to use the lower lace holeat the top. It tends to make a difference. Otherwise, there are other lacing styles that can be used.

MenofOregon, thank you for all the information you've decided to share with the community as it is much appreciated.

I as well am curious as to the benefits and specifics of the new lunar foam being used on the hyperdunks and would love to know what you can find out. Thanks!

Good try on trying to take it to a whole different level 23ska909red02. Sorry, I won't go down that path with you because it looks like itwill lead to nowhere, then you'd truly be successful. But the ORIGINAL intent of this post of mine was an informative one. It wasn't a post tosee who could outdo who. You've managed to do that on your own. Everyone here is more than capable of dissecting what was written and make their ownjudgements as to what was written without you trying to influence them.

I must say I didn't expect that kind of "game" from an administrator on here, but it says a lot. I didn't know it meant that much to you totry and "win" at this? If you put this much effort into my post maybe you can make an even harder effort in other posts as well??? But if I say"you win", will you drop the intense effort and try to get back to normal? Hope you're satisfied? You can continue to "pat yourself on theback", and I can continue to share information. Your trophy's in the mail. Good day, sir.

You won't go down that path because you don't see what you are doing as a problem. THAT is your problem. This isn't the first thread whereyour smugness has been so evident. People HAVE dissected and made their own judgments about what you have written, just as Meth pointed out. Justbecause Ska calls you out, it doesn't mean he is trying to influence people. And you wouldn't expect such a 'game' from an administrator onhere? You wouldn't expect an administrator to call you on your condescension and company shilling? Do you expect Ska to just let you be condescendingjust because you 'drop some info'? [IMG]

Posting public information on terminology is a problem????? Wow, that's a first for me.

The only problem is, he, along with others, assumed that I was being condescending with posting information(although I don't see how). That'sthe first mistake. NEVER ASSUME. Why would he, or anyone for that matter, have to "call someone out" for posted facts on terminology? Does that makeany sense????

Secondly, whenever you add your own words and twist the message then it becomes condescending, which works in his favor.

Lastly, read your last sentence over a few times and see if it makes any sense, sir.

Let's please try and not ruin the posting of information for others on this board who can benefit from it.
