WOODBRIDGE, Va.—A 12-year-old boy brought an unloaded gun to school Monday, police said.
The child brought the handgun to a bus stop and showed other children, and then got on the bus bound for Potomac Middle School in Woodbridge.
When the bus arrived at 7:55 a.m., the child got off and, before going into the building, pulled the gun from his pocket and pointed it to his head, said Prince William County police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
A teacher saw the child and took away the gun. He then took the boy into the school office.
“Thankfully, the teacher responded very quickly to diffuse the situation,
