I don't see how some of y'all don't see the dilemma these athletes, who have "bad" friends are in. Alot these "bad"dudes were around when nobody else was and its hard to just dump a friend when you get drafted considering how isolated an pro athlete is. A pro athlete can't just go get new friends because those friends will probably be the worse type of friends you can have....fake friends
Thats why when you get that type of money you "associate" yourself with people that have money or more than you, dont need people to depend on you if they not immediate family Or just help your friend out with a couple dollars and tell him to stay distant if you know hes gonna be a distraction to your career plain and simple

What happens when you don't have "immediate family" and those "bad" dudes are the ones you consider "immadiate family" because they held you down when nobody else was there for you? Do you turn your back on those guys like they never exisited or do you try to help them put them in a better situation now that you have the resources to do so? Not trying to argue your point of view, just trying to get some insight because I know a few athletes who have been through this dilemma.
