AF1's - How to date?

Hi all,

I'm new here so hoping I've posted in the right section. I'm trying to work out how to date a pair of AF's. I probably picked them up 2nd hand about 15 years ago and have just found them in the loft. Any ideas?

The tag indicates the manufacturing date which can be read as 040204. So it was made in 2004.
