could barely notice. I guess they're smartening up since its a high value purchase and knowing people will be more picky about every little thing when they spend that much. They rather risk you declining now than later on you complain for a discount code or even a return.

I've received boxes in worse condition than that and I had to ask for compensation

Never mind, that was not the damage. The box had a square cut in the middle of it and taped up.

Oh, I'm right there with you. The Storm Blues are more out there than the Black Toes, which I think works best for the overall design approach.

I have the black toes but prefer the storm blues by a large margin. There are lots of great black toe Js but not nearly as many that are blue aside from the Frags and Game Royals.
