Anyone here actually have an Athletic membership?
Thoughts?

I like it. I signed up giving it a try and I wanted to support some of the writers who joined. I bought the yearly and I think it's worth 4 bucks a month.

Interesting pod on coverage and race.

 at the story on Dame leaking the news on Twitter.

Y'all ready should follow Stadium on social media. They have some interesting interviews and put out some good products. This Lane kiffin story is hilarious and it sounds exactly like something Lane kiffin would do.

It's also interesting commentary on nepotism and it shows just how far is nepotism can get you in life. This dude quit on his team and his dad made afew phone calls and half an hour later he's an assistant coach at a D1 school, a position a lot more deserving people couldn't just walk into.

Some recent good listens

Birth of MTV with Mark Goodman
Original MTV VJ Mark Goodman is talking about the birth of MTV – from his first audition to his first moment on air! You’ll find out why he and Alan Hunter argue about being the first MTV VJ to this day, what it was like touring with David Lee Roth, why Martha Quinn got the Bob Dylan interview (and not Mark Goodman), and what he really thought about Madonna the first time he ever interviewed her. Mark’s also disclosing where and how MTV got their early videos, and why British bands got such heavy airplay in the early years. He’s got a great story about Sir Paul McCartney, and the reason he knew Kurt Loder’s hiring was the beginning of the end of Mark’s time at MTV.

I gave in and signed up for a subscription to The Athletic. Perfect timing with the NBA season ready to tip off.

Solid move.

It's been worth it for me. I've found myself seeking out more good and quality content, rather than just see what Twitter or other sources provides me. Their NBA team has grown by a lot as well.
