All Things Sports Media Thread!!

This is a Freakonomics Radio extra: our full conversation with N.B.A. point guard Jeremy Lin, because the new N.B.A. season has just begun! We interviewed Lin for our ongoing “Hidden Side of Sports” series. You may remember hearing in an earlier episode — No. 351, called “Here’s Why You’re Not an Elite Athlete” — how Lin was overlooked out of high school and college, at least in part because as an Asian-American kid, he didn’t “look the part” of an N.B.A. player. Nor did it help that he played his college ball at Harvard, which is not a basketball powerhouse. But he exploded onto the world sports stage in 2012, in what came to be known as “Linsanity,” leading the New York Knicks to multiple victories and putting up a personal stats line that would make a superstar happy. Lin is now with the Atlanta Hawks, his seventh team in nine seasons; he’s no longer a starter. He is, however, in the third and final year of a $38 million contract. We spoke a few days ago; Lin had come straight from practice -

Any Rusillo fans?

Never understood the hate for dude.

He can be a little too "broish" sometimes but I enjoy both his podcast.

More so the Duel Threat.

on a pod with simmons earlier this year, rusillo was dismissive of black players protesting and kept saying things like "wonder what would happen if a white player did x". id have to go back and listen to it be precise but after that it was more or less f this guy

I'm not a rusillo fan, would listen to SVP show whenever I caught it on.. but wasn't a fan when it went to just him

When I heard a bit of the pod with him and Colin cowherd I think I figured out why

I’m a big SVP fan, so I listened by default when they had a show together..

Russillo had mad shh to talk about the GOAT the day Ali died, while not having much to say about his contributions to the civil rights movement...Very distasteful..

Plus if someone else did that bull he did showing up naked and drunk in a strangers house they’d be blackballed...

Miss me wit Russilo..

Two great listens
