So me and the wifey traveled to Huntington Beach to take our dogs to the dog beach this weekend.

When we were done, we packed up everything and started heading to our car.

As we walking up the hill, we see two dudes scuffling around and people staring that direction. We notice that one guy started punching and kicking the ground, then all of a sudden we hear dog cries.

I immediately run up there to see what's going on because I thought they were just beating a dog. But it was 2 dogs fighting (1 was a grey nose pit bull, the other was english bulldog)

The grey nose had the bulldog around the side of the neck, and we tried to pull him off. It wasn't until the owner of the english bulldog jump and stomped the pit bull's head to the ground, the pit bull let go.

After we separated the dogs, the pit bull owner got into the other owner's face and was trying to fight, asking him "why the **** were you kicking my dog??!!?"

The Cops, come and the english bulldog owner made a scene and requested the pitbull to be put down.

I guess my question is, how would you react if your dog got attacked by another dog? Or vice versa? How would you react if your dog attacked another dog and had to be put down?

Cliffnotes
2 dogs fighting
One of the owner kicks and stomps on the other dog
Other owner tries to fight
Owner of the dog attacked requests to have the other dog put down

having lived in mexico and having to deal with stray dogs fighting my dogs all the time, you can't really get heated in that moment.
just gotta stay calm and patient and step in as soon as the chance presents itself. you usually know who the aggressor is and that's the dog you try to target as far as distracting him by kicking him/yelling at him or whatever.
but i mean my dogs have never really been 'small' so they've been able to hold their own with other dogs.

in that situation where the pit had the other dog pinned i guess it's ok for the other guy to try to have him let go since it is it his dog that it is being attacked.
but then again if i was in that situation and that was my pit i would be trying to get it off the other dog by any means since it's my dog and my responsibility.
sounds like an ill-equipped pitbull owner to me, so it's his fault.

if another dog had mine around its neck i would punt its chin, word to jeff feagles

i have a poor pug, another dog twice her size attacks her, im punching it in the nose....if your dog is aggressive towards other dogs, it shouldnt be off a leash and you should jhave full control of him/her....the english bulldog owner is right in this case, the pitbulls owner should be fined and ay for any vet visits that might come from this, idk about putting the pit down thoigh...

I've always said, there's no bad dogs, just bad owners. It sounds like the owners are too blame, but I would have done something to the dog if my dog was attacked.

I have a yorkie-poo so I'll never have to worry about him attacking another dog. But if a dog had its mouth around his neck, then I'm kicking and punching that dog.

If my dog is being attacked, destroying the other dogs face with an elbow drop.

If my dog is attacking, I'm still punting him (he's a dachshund, so I don't think I'll have to worry too much)

Either way, dogs need to be kept under control. I'm really not one for putting down another person's dog unless it really is only ferocious and can't (or the owner won't let it) be rehabilitated. If that dog was acting completely out of character then I really hope it isn't getting put down.

My dog (chocolate lab) and my boy's dog (american bulldog) got into a little scrap. They both have a little bit of nervous/defensive aggression towards other dogs so we weren't upset at each other. Just so happened they got loose at the same time. We were able to rip them apart.

If I have my dog controlled and another dog attacks him unprovoked and is doing serious harm to my dog, I'd probably snuff him in the nose/eyes and/or boot him in the ribs, word to Wayne Rooney.

Gotta understand that dogs are gonna be dogs though. Stuff like that's gonna happen.
