Since the quarantine started i noticed there was a chiropractor i went to last year, still doing business. I had never been in a car wreck or had any serious injuries but had been having reoccuring ankle pain that flares up every now and then.
On my first visit in 2019, dude analyzed my posture and told me my right hip is rotated 15 degrees forward, which is causing the left side of my body to compensate carrying the extra load, hence why it was only my left ankle. I always just assumed it was from crazy stuff i did as a teenager (skateboarding, hopping fences) so i was a little skeptical.
So he has me lay down sideways in a somewhat fetal position, places one hand on my shoulder and the other on my hip and pushes in opposite direction. This was sort of like when you twisting in a chair to crack your back, but more violently. The crack that resulted sounded 3 times as loud.
So he has me get up and start walking around, and i notice the pain which was usually a 4 on a 10 scale had dropped to 1. And its stayed there in the several months since. So that had me curious if he could work any more magic.
I let him know this time Im just looking for a tune up and i have no urgent type of aches. So the first 10 minutes or so, hes doing the basic back cracking type stuff everybody knows. Has me lay face down an exhale, then presses down into my back. Then he had me sit up and clasp my hands behind my head. Then he hooked his arms in the loops and lifted me up. At this point i had lost count of how many cracks there were, i think 15-20.
So then he has me lie down face up and starts rubbing my neck and the crazy thing he was able to predict how much each side would pop before he cracked, just from feeling my neck. After the side to side and diagonal cracks, he put his left hand at the base of my head and cradled my chin with the other hand. All the sudden he yanks backwards and pulls me back almost a foot. Knocked the wind out of me, albeit in a good way. The best way i can describe it was that it felt like 10 back cracks all at once. Top, middle, lower and the tailbone. Entering my early 30s, i think i was developing the same back pain that everybody gets as they get older...but as i walked out that day i kinda had like a de ja vu throwback feeling, literally feeling like an elementary kid. Very hard to put into words. Infact when i woke up the next morning i didnt have the usual urge to hit the snooze button and stay there an extra 15 or however minutes. Same thing this morning.
So im definitely going to try to visit this guy on a regular basis going forward. Anyone else have a chiro?
