but that is a lot of places to visit, sounds fun. I guess you can do that as long as you book hostels in advance and have a set limit on amounts of daysyou're staying in each place

where are you flying out from? East coast?

I'm going with three friends this summer. First we're flying to Bremen and then using the trains. our "plan" is Bremen->Amsterdam->Paris->Barcelona->Southern France->Rome->Venice and then back to Bremen. We have 22 days to do this and it might be a little ambitious but we'll see. We're going to sleep in hostels.

I appreciate any kind of tips.

I hear as long as your pick one that's in the heart of tourism and legit looking you should be good. I don't know about staying in a dorm type jointthough

Dorm style hostels aren't that bad, especially if you are traveling with friends. If you are having a good time, you won't be spending much time inyour hostel anyway, but definitely check the user reviews before you book.

10 days is a pretty short trip but it's better than nothing, although 2 days in each city will really leave you wanting more.

Expect to budget at least 60-75 dollars a night, including hostel costs, at the very least.

My tips:

1. bring as much cash as possible
2. for the love of God stay more than 1 day in each place, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see EVERYTHING in these cities in 1 day
3. #2 is amended for Amsterdam: van Gogh museum, canal tour, and Red Light district and you're done
4. hostels are fine, but get the smaller rooms so it's only you and your friends and READ THE REVIEWS
5. you HAVE to do Barcelona, Paris, Rome, London (expensive but MUCH MUCH different from continental Europe...you'll see...and no language barrier)
6. avoid RyanAir...go EasyJet or take trains
7. i currently live in London...PM me if you need more tips

Only tourists wear shorts

I'd use a card, there's ATMs everywhere....if you use AmEx it might be a slight hassle findindg ATMs that take your card in Barcelona and a coupleother cities, some of the major banks' ATMs only take Visa, Mastercard, some European companies, etc. but no AmEx. It's weird. But most do.

I guess Paris is gonna be like home base cause we know someone that lives over there. Spending a total of 4 nights there i think

the trip is actually an 11 day trip, first time in Europe, I'm stoked

one day whe i have a job im going to visit my hometown Italy haven't been there since 1999 I missed it with a passion

My friend just came back from Amsterdam.
He said it was the funnest place he has ever been and the ladies

You are right about the dollar, it stinks. he spent $50 for himself in Burger King.

Next year i plan to go to Paris, southern part of France, Italy, and where ever those nice casinos are

Did the whole Euro trip thing after I graduated, like a grip of other college students I know -

We hit the traditional big cities in Europe. London - Paris - Venice - Rome - Florence then back to Rome, back to London for a day and then home.

Only place I wasn't a fan of was Paris, for whatever reason. Just didn't enjoy the city as much as I thought I would.

Rome was my favorite place, history-wise. Maybe it's because I'm in to Roman/Greek history and stuff like that.

Only thing I'd recommend doing is to not think about conversion rates...my buddy did that with everything and it got old real fast...just gotta accept ourdollar isn't worth as much over there...(and I mean that in the sense that, sure you can be careful with your $$$, but dont go crazy over it at the sametime)

Also, pack light. It also gets old real fast having to carry around a gigantic backpack and/or suitcase. Plus, if it's hot out and your carrying it aroundfor a few hours...miserable.

I haven't yet because I'm gonna need 5-8 friends to go with...ensure no nonsense goes down. That would probably be the best trip I ever have

thanks everyone, some real helpful stuff in here

& yeah, i was thinking of how I should be packing. I gotta figure it all out. don't know how much #!%# to bring and what not

1 jacket, 2 light hoodies, and i don't know how many shirts + like 3 pairs of jeans

and I guess I gotta get one of those electrical converters for the outlets right?

STA travel had tickets to London or Paris for 20...i tried to call but the number wouldn't go through...SMH
