Anyone ever just stop to think about where we collectively stand with technology?

Relative to 5,10,50,100 years ago? Quite frankly we take a lot of things for granted, understandably so. But our expectations for technology has expanded somuch, and now at such a rapid pace. Honestly the advent of a lot of technological advancements are so ubiquitous that we just accept it as the norm, and goabout our business. But how exactly does this impact us from a social, or psychological standpoint?

I think this interview of one our country's more brilliant minds somewhat convey what I'm trying to get across:

@ dudes still not knowing how to embed.

Anyways, I think it's amazing just looking at the last 5 years. Dudes forget that you were a lame without the hottest CD player and a banging mix CD.

I like to think of myself as a progressive thinker, but some of the newest technology has me like

Modern Technology is great, but it sucks that most of the world can't experience what we have. That's why I try to never take it for granted.

Yeh man. I think about stuff like this all the time. In fact, I'm reading a book where they were saying how rare it is for a civilization to be in thephase that were in. I think they called our phase a take off phase. It's where basically, were living in an era where one generation has witnessed andexperienced not having electricity to flying in air planes and seeing computers as "powerful" as they are today. It spoke about how if we were tofind another civilization on another planet, it would most likely be primitive or far more advanced than we are. And if you think about it, it makes sense. Were on our way to being very intelligent and advanced beings, but were not quite there yet.

I guess you never got grounded in middle school, and banned from thecomputer, and had to settle for Hustler or Swank.

disturbing in some ways

It's wild... I was just discussing this last night with one of my brothers from bible study. It's weird, because invention has stagnated in the senseof we have almost everything we need to live comfortably on a daily basis. It's a wonder to see where we'll go from here.

I love the evolution of everything with technology. I do everything I can to try to think up new inventions while at the same time learning about circuits +electronic engineering. Its hard but so much damn fun. The only thing I hope we never have to rely on is for humanoid robots to do stuff for us...thats just sodamn sad + lazy.

I'll dig around and post all the stuff I have saved on the old external drive...crazy what I saved over the years.

Where's CRCballer, back in the day on NT he was the only one really putting us on with all the Tech news/gossip.
