from my understanding, there are no monthly fees and you can watch anything from your home cable box (including dvr) on any device with internet access, correct?

i think i'm going to pick up that new Blackjack 2, that would work right?

i found this website: http://www.slingmedia.com/

but i guess i'm trying to get some personal feedback. likes? dislikes? recommendations on the different types?

One of the best purchases I've ever made in life. Makes work fly by. I can't believe I was at my job a whole year before I found out aboutthis thing.Hurry up and buy

Yup I agree, its awesome. Now I can watch all my UCLA basketball games no matter where I am. I have T-Mobile and it works great over their slow internet speedeven. I heard its much better on Sprints network or Verizon. It basically lets you watch anything from your cable or satellite box and lets you change thechannel and everything as if you were sitting right at home.

I got mine for like $60 from one of those deal of the day websites.

Some dude was watching some college football and that thing is pretty cool. Will look into once they get blackberry coverage

what about PSPs or ipod touch ?

i think it requires Windows, but i don't know anything about PSPs or that ipod touch.

so it appears that this slingbox joint is official.

which types y'all got, the AV or PRO?

i most def need to pick one of these up, taking on a new job at work in which i will sit around and do nothing for about 5-6 hours of my day

so ima need this since i won't have access to a TV or comp anymore.

I've had my slingbox for a while now (slingbox classic) and it is the best thing ever. Mainly purchased it to watch sports games when I'm away fromhome. I've also got the slingbox mobile setup on my Verizon Moto Q, added bonus when your sitting in the car doing nothing.

no monthly charges?
even for the program on your monthly phone? (not on the provider side)

damn i need to get a PDA!

i have another question... you can split your cable connection for this right? so you dont change the channels on a home set while your away?

so it captures a TV, like a vcr, not from the coaxle like a box? well i know a tv no one uses, now to finally choose a PDA

It connects directly to your cable box so you might want to get an extra one for it. That's what I did so that my bro and sis can watch they're tvshows while they're in school in the Philippines. If you're watching something on tv and they connect to the slingbox, then they have to watchwhatever you're watching and vice-versa.

? i only have 2 cable boxes in the house and 2 tvs without boxes to them.

has to be a cable box?

yeah, you HAVE to connect it to a cable box because that's where the slingbox gets its "feed" from.

I have the AV Slingbox. It comes with these little IR sensors just like on your remote and you can place them on your cable/satellite box and change thechannels. If there is someone watching it at home already then you will either have to A. Watch the same thing they are watching or B. Change the channel forcethe other person to watch what you want to watch. You can't split them up. There is no monthly fee with this thing. The software for your computer is freeand its only $30 for the mobile software which works great. I actually watched the UCLA game today on my Dash because I was at work. The picture isn't inhigh def or anything but you can easily make out whats going on so for the money I think its a great investment. It does do a number on your battery thoughsince it is a constant stream you are running. The cool thing about the software for your phone is that you can also set it to just stream the audio from yourtv and you can listen to things like the news or sporting events while having your earpiece on and no one else will be bothered or know that you are doing it(I've done this once or twice).

it doesn't have to be a cable box. you can run it through a straight wire if you wanted to. I think it's the ....slingbox tuner? Just run the wirethrough that and you'll be set. The only CON about a slingbox for me is the streaming. depending on the upload speed, the picture is blurry when it'sfull-screen( * > 400KBps). Anything over that for me and it's great.

yep. but the only model that does the coaxial cable i believe is the 'slingbox tuner'.

that's the discontinued old basic model. You can still find it relatively easy though
