Managing someone in the entertainment industry? an actor or rapper for example...

I intern at an entertainment agency and right now im looking to manage one of my friends who's an aspiring actor, to get him involved with our projects n%#$@ like that but...anyone got any experience on managing an up and coming actor,rapper, singer etc..???
