Anyone think that Jay Cutler is acting like a *%%!$?

He has a right to be mad no doubt

But no wat DEN is getting rid of him now. He should just man up and play now.

Imagine you are newspaper writer...Rocky Mountain times sign you too a long term deal and they tell you are going to be the feature sports columnist in thepaper. The next day you get to work and you hear that Tony Kornhieser said he turned down a deal to go to be the feature columnist at thee rocky mountain timesand the Rocky Mountain times layers were trying to figure out how to get out of your contract.

So the entire time they are telling you you are the cornerstone of the sports section and the page 1 feature columnist they are trying to sign Tony Kornheiserto deal, a dude who nobody really thinks can still write anymore. So you walk into the newsroom all your coworkers are talking about how they could have hadTK and how they were trying to get rid of you.

Wouldn't you feel like an %#*++%%, wouldn't expect an explanation from the manegment? Wouldn't use all the leverage you have to vooice yourdispleasure? Then you go into the editors office and he is feeding you $$*%%%#% saying that they never tried tog get rid of you for TK. Striaght up lying toyou...wou;d you still trust the editor, would you still wanna write for him.

They made Jay look like a dickhead, so he's returning the favour.

What a mess. But Cutler seems to be in a bunch of stupid stuff all the time. The issue between him and Rivers. The arm strength thing with a Denver legend, now with the new coach, he was upset when Mike was fired and he wasn't told.........Kid needs to grow up.

Basically. I don't understand half of NT. Its all about principles.. Its ok for the team to do whats best for the team but its BAD for the playerto do whats best for the player. Yalkl so backwards.

FREE CUTLER!

As a Broncos fan and a Colorado resident I'm really angry about how this entire situation is playing out. This is a prime example of how communicationproblems lead to a snow ball effect.

I feel for Cutler, thew new coach wanted no part of him from Day 1 and tried to get Cassell just cause he has a relationship with dude, and even in their faceto face meeting Cutler said he felt uncomfortable by some of the things dude told him.

Dude is a franchise quarterback IMO (even though the Broncos or the new HC feels differently). Yeah he throws too many INT's but it would be foolish totrade him.

I dont agree the new coach wanted no part of him since Day 1. QB's don't grow on trees and Culter is mad young. McDaniels has said from the get go thathe didnt open up to the possibility until other teams brought it up after a few weeks on the job. Most human beings are going to listen if teams call aboutanyone not named Brady or Manning. But this is indeed pro sports and everyone lies for a living so who knows what the deal was.

But if McDaniels wanted to listen to possibilities on acquiring for his former player Cassell (knowing he probably wouldnt have to break the bank to acquirehim as the Chiefs later proved) then that's his right too. He's hired to win games and as quickly as possible. Cutler can get mad about it, that'shis right. But he also can be the bigger man and understand it's a business and his organization is 17-20 since he took to the field and he is far fromexempt from any trade talks if a new staff takes over.

It's a different world now though....teams cannot even whisper to each other about some trades or any moves because they know there is a 99% chance it getsleaked. God knows how many "superstars" came up in trade talks in the 70's and 80's that the media back then never got a hold of.

Anyway, here's some more:

SOURCE: COOK WANTS NEW CONTRACT FOR CUTLER

Posted by Mike Florio on March 16, 2009, 11:34 a.m.

With none of the top quarterbacks in the draft pool picking him to be their agent, Bus Cook had to find a way to get his name into the NFL conversation in the weeks leading up to the 2009 version of the rookie selection process.

What better way to do it than to demonstrate his power and influence to the quarterback class of 2010 by forcing a trade of Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler?

Dan Patrick said on the Monday edition of his show that Cook recently responded to a report from Peter King that Cutler had asked for a trade before the possibility of trading Cutler ever arose with the time-honored non-denial denial: "Not that I know of."

We're now convinced that Cook is the primary instigator of Cutler's discontent - and also the primary impediment to a meaningful coach-player meeting that could resolve the situation and keep Cutler around.

King told Patrick on Monday that coach Josh McDaniels still wants to have a one-on-one meeting with Cutler.

In other words, McDaniels wants to be able to talk to Cutler without Cook sticking his nose into the discussion, saying and doing things that will prevent Cutler's currently stubborn resolve from weakening.

Indeed, a league source tells us that Cook's idea for solving the current impasse was - what else? - a fat new contract for Cutler. If the Broncos aren't willing to give Cutler a new deal, then Cook and Cutler want to be traded.

Cook is a West Virginia native, so we'd ordinarily be inclined to give him the Pat White treatment. In this case, we can't. Cook has been at the center of too many unnecessary controversies, and he has failed to use his tremendous influence over his clients to persuade them to find a way to make things work. Instead, Cook has thrived of late on destroying existing relationships, for no apparent strategic reason other than to get his name in the paper.

Why do players listen to agents?

I hope someday that all sports agents are tarred and feathered in front of millions of happy fans.

Jay is done in Denver..

They better not trade him to any team in the AFC West cause he is gonna do them like Randy does Dallas...

Yea but this is the NFL where you can expect to be traded or released at any time. It comes with the territory. How many times does a newswriter get traded or released for another high profile writer? Rarely.

Nope.

If anything they should've traded the entire defense for Cassel.

oh no it hasn't happened....

i'm just throwing ideas out there

I dont think Cutler is a star, but when has any STAR been traded? Unless they complain like T.O theyll get traded. Fact is youre in the NFL,where trades and cuts happen. Right now hes a joke in the sporting media.

The thing is NFL Superstars do not get traded very often, at all really. The last one i cant remember is really Clinton Portis/Champ Bailey & maybe the T.O. trade situation.
Just curious... is Jay Cutler really considered a "Superstar"?

3 years in the league, 1 Pro Bowl. Am I missing something?
