Are african american people generally more homophobic?

I was watching a TV segment tonight that was discussing this topic so was wondering what some of your opinions might be?
I guess this applies more so to Americans. I'm personally a Canadian and here in Canada any sort of homophobia is extremely frowned upon so I can'treally comment on its state.
If you think there is any merit to this, what would you say its roots are?

I wasn't pointing this out, because I was homophobic, just stating how many different threads were made today that were such.

I could care less of a man's sexual preference. I know gay people. It is what it is.
