they work your upper body, lower body, increase your heart rate and you don't need any exercise  equipment.

Best non-equipment workout IMO.
But, cheap equipment would be elastic bands, you control how much resistance by the way you hold them so you don't need to keep buying heavier weights and stuff.
 
I remember our Training leader (air force) showed us those during Physical Training one morning, everyone was like ?????
