Talking to this chick and she had mentioned never going to an art gallery. I checked LACMA but theres nothing of interest till mid feb. Any of you NTers havesome spots or jazz clubs something artsy thats not too hypebeastish.

Art Walk in DTLA. Group of galleries off of Spring St.
The route is shaped like a knife, but that's irrelevant.

If you're looking for museum/big art galleries there's the Getty, LACMA, and Japanese American Nat. Museum (Giant Robot exhibit till the 24th).Downtown and a small part of La Cienega has galleries too.

Thank you guys! I feel so stupid that I forgot about the getty.

this is a good one to go to. say if ya'll get "bored" of art, you can easily go out. like grab a drink or two at the standard. etc. etc.

I'd suggest going to Getty Malibu, free tickets but $15 parking.

The views are unmatched and PCH is always sexy as hell.

Check out the Lake Shrine thing just down the street, but check the hours before going.

You're also right by the Santa Monica Pier, so you'd be good money.

art walk in downtown is good (second thursday of every month) and saturdays in culver city are good for openings. check the corey helford gallery site, too, or new image. also, check blogs like the art collectors or arrested motion. those will give you an idea of galleries/openings.
