I'm glad someone finally took the time out to say it. Only the first half of the skit is what's really important:

"2009, we had a lot of Patron, we had a lot of swag, we had a lot of auto-tune, we had a lot of things. But now, this year is going to be a little different. You know, I feel like this is two-thousand and win! Ya know? I feel like the game is going in a new direction. I feel like we have a lot of artists, a lot of up-and-coming artists. We have a lot to look forward to. And I feel like we, as a generation are pushing the envelope a little bit further than what the industry standards can accommodate."

There's really not a lot to look forward to. For the most part the next generation is looking like a weak version of the current generation. I'm not going to get into specifics here, because there are too many kids on here who don't understand the concept of opinion.

B.o.B. is definitely different, but I don't see him as a major piece of the game's future. He's too different/inconsistent.

I agree with what you said as well but Hip-Hop as a whole took a regression (in my opinion). I wouldn't have imagined the state of Hip-Hop to be what it is nearly a decade ago. But artists like B.o.B is a breath of fresh air, especially these days. And again, I agree that he isn't a major piece of the future but hopefully this motivates others not to allow themselves to be stuck in the industry box and their "formula".

it aint even about that. B.o.B. while his style is different I cant even listen to dude. Why? cause there are way too many artists out there now a days and most of them i have never heard of and everyone is trying to blow up, they put out dozens of mixtapes every month with gimmicky photos shopped covers, bootleg leaks, snippets, they hop on popular beats (u get like a million A millie remixes), release some B grade videos, vlogs, trying to promote their music. Its just getting so repetitive that its not even about the music anymore, its like a big marketing campaign now with everyone. So dudes with true talent have a lot more road blocks now that they ever did due to the market saturation. I hate to sound like some old school cat but back in the day dudes were innovators, they represented a movement, their sound was raw, original and their music stood for something, wasn't watered down and some even were the voice of a whole generation. [mike jones]Back then!![/mike jones] now its all about the benjamins.

Let's be honest here. No matter how nice the game gets you are always going to have the select few that are debbie downers and don't want to accept the fact that hip hop is changing. Cats hate change so they hate the game. I wouldn't even bother to try to appease them. BOB is on point.
