Depends on what u want to use it for. I just bought an HP for 660 total with 2 GB (shared video) and 6 GB ram with 250 GB and all the usual susupects (webcam, wireless, the works). And its worked so far with most apps for design.

If your only purpose is Word Excel Powerpoing Myspace MEssenger  you can try out the Netbooks. They run about 200-300 but have no CD-DVD drive.

I worked full time during my senior year of high school and bought it for myself as a graduation gift.
