Man there is so many to choose from its hard to remember them all.

Yeah all the traditional NY rap, I have those, biggies, Jay's, Mobbs, Jada/Styles, Nas's, the random west coast album, chronic 3000.

I'm also trying to get my shortie into "good" rap, Nas, Mobb, Styles etc are all too hard for her. She listens to party rap(Florida ish) mostly :smh: Shes not a bird, just caucasian and doesnt know better

and grab anything you can by Los or jay Electronica, because i fully and truly believe they're the only clear greats that are active right now

Enter the Wu tang 36 chambers
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Reasonable Doubt
A tribe called quests first three albums
Bizarre Ride 2 the pharcyde
black album
blueprint

college dropout

Definitely forgetting some stuff but you cant go wrong with any of these

Since you said "ever", let's start early.

Some of the classic early albums I'd suggest....

Public Enemy-Yo Bumrush The Show
Beastie Boys-License To Ill
Boogie Down Productions-Criminal Minded
Big Daddy Kane-Long Live The Kane
Biz Markie-Goin' Off
EPMD-Strictly Business
Ultramagnetic MC's-Critical Beatdown
Eric B and Rakim-Paid In Full

These IMO are the albums that laid the foundation for rap music as we know it. In terms of rhymes, production etc. They were all released in the span of about 2 years.

Each of these groups follow up albums (except maybe Ultramags, Kane, Biz) was also phenomenal.

From here you can segue into Kool G Rap, De La, Tribe Called Quest, Wu, Mobb, Nas, Jay etc.

this album may offend you if you're white
O.C Word Life (NYC Rapper)

Jay-Z, Ja Rule, DMX are in this album

Hardcore NYC > Trap anyday of the week for me
