Their trying to avoid specific behavior from scouts on camping trips, Coming from an ex-scout, a lot of questionable stuff went down and will continue to go down regardless if they allow openly gay males/females or not.

When it's all males, it's a lot easier to relate homosexuality with pedophilia than it is heterosexuality, no? What would a potential heterosexual pedo do with kids of the same gender? Not sure, but I'd take my chances. I say protect the kids, even it offends some adults.

Kinda. I mean, I know I'm not going to beat down the doors of a club that doesn't want me as a member...hey, I'll get over never getting to join the Aryan Nation. They're a private club, and they can employ any policies they want as long as they don't harm anyone...and if not getting a Boulder Badge or whatever is the worst thing that happens to you in life, you're one lucky #$+!%* anyway.

As a private club they're allowed to set their rules and standard for membership, the issue arises when you look at there supporters. The government is a big supporter legally and economically, so the argument is if they allowed to excluded homosexual why does the goverment still support them? By association, its being said the government is support anti-homosexual policies.

Maybe Boy Scouts took notice to what has happened and are trying to help keep away homophobic individuals from taking it upon themselves to hurt/abuse those that are homosexual.

Because no one should be forced to formally accept a "lifestyle" or "preference" or "predisposition" of a person or group if they don't want to. I could tell them I'm Rastafarian, but only toke before bed when I have the next day off. Would they have to accept me?
Just because people learn to "tolerate" a lifestyle doesn't mean they're going to like it or "embrace" it.

Why is your sexual orientation on display in front of small children and/or in a child-based work environment anyway? Hetero, @@%@, little-o-both, whatever. Is it on your application? Is it part of the interview? Do they crank up a variety pack of porn before they hire you and see what gets you off? Point is, it's not anyone's business who and what you like, but that's just it...it's not anyone's business who and what you like. As long as you don't go glittering around the campsite or knitting cell phone cases for your whole troop, how would anyone ever know? Unless there's a huge influx of homosexual 2nd graders, why is this an issue at all?
Besides, the federal government supports a whole lot worse than hetero-only Boy Scouts.
