Can Someone Put Me On To Different Authors?

Can one of you suggest me a couple of writers similar to Kurt Vonnegeut? I'm basically looking for other writers that are as witty, clever and humorous as him. Also if you know of any other writers who are not as popular, but are talented and witty please let me know. Any writers whom have aren't popular, but talented would be appreciated as well.

Have you read The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson? It is a great read for the spring/summer.

Like Vonnegut? Umberto Eco, Thomas Pynchon, Douglas Adams, Michael Chabon. Go back and read some Twain and Poe and Joyce which are in the background of his style of writing.

gun, with occasional music. It's kind of hard to follow, but I really enjoyed it.

motherless brooklyn. it's not as witty as gun with occasional music, but it's really, really, really good.

Off topic, but I didn't know Jonathan Ames (creator of the show Bored to Death) was an actual writer. I'll have to check out some of his stuff.

Have you read Mother Night? I thought that was an amazing book.

colson whitehead's sag harbor: a novel was a great great book IMO
