Can you dye black sock liners white?

Can you dye black sock liners white? I'm thinking about changing the color on my White/Varsity Red 6's, so I can make a Maroon 6 custom.

The other section of Niketalk locked my original question. So maybe I'll ask here? (Still pretty new to this site)

at this point i dont think its easily done my ideas would be to have the sockliner replaced with a white material or maybe use shoelace polish a bunch of times to soak in the white.

If you haven't started yet here's a video on how to paint sockliners, you might need a bit more that suggested as you are painting black to white.
