I have a 2006 impala ss, and im trying to install a double din stereo without the special wire harness needed and  verything works fine but i cant seem to find a fuse or a wire to tap into that will provide a 12v acc switch. everything i try seems to have constant power..... does anyone know were to find this in 06-09 GM vehicles? Thanks in advance.

No because when I turn off the car, the stereo stays on!

im guessing you have your headunits power cable connected to the battery. it needs to be wired to the ignition. its usually the yellow cord. i remember on my friends old car i ran the headunits power wire to a 10v fuse for the cigarette lighter under his steering wheel ( i put a little wire breaker thing, i cant find a picture. but it had a swtich so manually stop power). it worked fine. he had a 08 montecarlo
