So my homeboy pops comes over to drop something off this morning and points out it seems my car may be leaking fuel, so I turn on the engine and turn it offand see slow drips coming out from the fuel area. I call a few shops and they say its various things it could be and I should bring it in, but I`m really nottrying to put any major cheese into my car for repairs being that I plan on getting a new car in the next few months, but I do need this car because it is myonly form of transportation. DO you think I will get taxed an insane amount or what? This is really frustrating.

same thing happend to my mustang acouple of months ago
check under were your gas tank is at.
if you see it leaking through a pipe you need to change the pipe or the connector
its hard to explain but it shouldnt be expensive

Sorry to hear that. BTW, did you ever get in contact with anyone from CBS about an internship? Was it you that gave me your resume?

yea I`m hoping it's simple, I dont want to replace an entire gauge or something. I did not get under the car, but when I looked it was just small drips, but then again I did not try to drive it. but when my boy pops pointed it out he pointed out the wet area under the car and said it smells like gas.

    sounds exactly like my problem
if you look at were its leaking from there should be a wheel like rubber grip and it connects to a pipe to were the gas comes from , that would be my firstguess point that out to a mechanic
also go to a mechanic you trust.

Might be the sender valve, the point where the gas is funneled out of the fuel tank and into the gas line. I had to replace mine a few years back after saltgot up in there and corroded it out. It was like $300 to repair, mostly for labor. Cars are a b.

It's a 97 Chevy Lumina, the car runs great but it has 260k+ miles, so I`m just guessing it's nearing the end of its life.
