What is a high paying( 50+ K) desk job that doesn't require much education? Please do not tell me to go to college because I have a Bachelors already. I'm 23 BTW. I'm currently a personal trainer and after dealing with a lot of different people, I want to have a slower pace job. I'm tired of dealing with people nowadays. Any suggestions?

DOES

NOT

EXIST

If any company was handing out high paying jobs to uneducated people, don't you think there would be a line around the block and then some?  C'mon man, you say you got a college degree, didn't you learn anything in college?  The basic fundamentals of supply and demand?

An uneducated laborer = high supply / low demand
A good paying job = low supply / high demand

I've seen a few executive assistant positions that are around 50K but those were for big firms or specialized operations.

I personally had an internship through school my senior year (drexel university). I got it on my own though my friends mom. It was a junior financial analyst job at laureate higher education located in Baltimore. I transitioned to full time after i graduated.

I hated that job and was applying everywhere while i worked there. Luckly enough i applied to a government contracting company ASRC and got called back to give a presentation to a bunch of department heads marketing myself. It went pretty well and I got a call back and now am lucky enough to be a project support specialist acting as a financial analyst (resource analyst in government jargon) for NASA

the only advice i can give you is sadly enough a lot of it comes down to who you know. Talk to friends, parents, teachers anyone that will put your resume through and will speak highly of you. That should get you an interview at least. And personally thats all i need because i can sell myself pretty well its just tough now a days when your applying for entry level positions and so are people with CFA's and MBA's that have just been laid off and just need some money.

in the real world, its not WHAT you know, sadly....its WHO you know. the idiot next to you might go farther in life than you, even though your 10x smarter and more competent, because he has CONNECTS. people dont go to top tier schools for the education anymore, they are going for the CONNECTS. life is about CONNECTS. dont burn bridges, build them!

but that requires education and work in getting licensed.

that job also falls into the category of "who you know".  I can assure you that an entry level insurance agent is not pullin in $110K unless he has mad skills and could sell ice to an eskimo, or he is handed a robust rolodex of current accounts on a silver platter where he just has to make sure people renew their policies.  As is the case with any sales job, its gonna be cutthroat and no one is going to be giving out handouts.

Never go into Finance, it is dull, uninteresting, and tends to attract people with the same personality.

I'm on USAjobs.com all day, everday at work. That is what I do at work, basically search and apply for jobs on craigslist, hospital website, etc.

That, and being on NT

I can not agree more, my man.

IMO, there are two different people. People who are born book smart and works hard throughout their school career and land a great job with a high paying salary and people who are not so brilliant who have tons of connection and land a great job with a high paying salary. This is not to say I am not intelligent. I'm more street smart than book smart.

Don't believe people when they say there are no shortcuts in life, because in reality there are plenty of shortscuts. It's up to the person to find them.

hahaha way to stereotype an entire industry that you know nothing about.

I work in finance and I love what I do.  I am constantly being challenged to use my brain which is very stimulating and fulfilling.  I wont go as far to say its for everyone, but its ignorant to say that the entire industry is "dull, uninteresting, and tends to attract people with the same personality".  I dont want to go into too much detail (not that im secretive about what I do, but it would just be long winded), but I work in the sub-prime sector as an underwriter.  It is a constant battle and is like a game to me, as I have applicants trying to manipulate, lie, cheat, whatever to try and get me to approve their deal.  Its my job to vete out what is BS, what is real, determine whether they are a good credit risk, determine how much I can lend, and then ultimately putting that deal together.  Its a cat/mouse game everyday.  I don't know how that could be considered dull or mundane.

edit:

^^ but having a degree is mutually exlusive from having the proper license to sell insurance.  He would still have to go through the process of studying the material and taking the proper exams to get licensed.
