I'm on an Alaska flight that is little over 2 weeks. Starting to get nervous with all the cancelations. My flight isn't a Max 9 but they have been changing many flights and one I'm on has been canceled various days.

737 is like the f150 of aviation. Most them aren’t max though. Plenty of smaller companies have all 737 fleets.

haven't flown since 2012 when I went to Europe

that was before I had kids

now a family of five and we plan to go to Florida in 8 weeks and haven't bought tickets

live in central PA so I'm not too far from a good number of airports but it's quite the expense with five and we'll have to all sit together with my kids being young and never flown

my sister recently went to Florida as well and told me she got a good price on tickets flying with Allegiant out of Harrisburg to West Palm Beach...she showed me the total and it was over $700 round trip

I think I'm either looking at round trip from Arlington to West Palm w/ jet blue...free carry on as well as free personal item and $35 for a checked bag...each flight $89

or Spirit out of Baltimore (can't remember if flying into West Palm, Lauderdale, or Miami) for $84 w/ checked bag and assigned seating...no carry one, free item

could maybe get away w/ each of taking a carryon but probably will get at least one checked bag just in case...plus if I'm bringing beer home that would have to be on a checked bag

any feedback on those airlines or anything I should know??

Spirit is notorious for being delayed. 89 bucks is cheap af though.

I’d double check the price after you add all the fees to make sure it’s still worth flying them.

I’ve never flown them but I know them and frontier are fighting to be the worst us airline.

ive flown jet blue 3 times and they were always delayed.
but at least they would give you travel credit

funny story, i booked a flight (using travel credit) to oregon that i wasnt gonna be able to make after all. but i didnt bother cancelling it cause then i wouldve had to come out of pocket for some fees. that flight turned out to be delayed, so i got future travel credit and ended up breaking even for a flight i never even took.
ended up with the same amount of travel credit that i started out with

I live in the Memphis metro area... There's an airline called Allegiant that I use all the time. Tickets are always cheap and I haven't been delayed once. I know everyone has different experiences but they've been good to me.

the pay as you go **** is what the budget airlines do but a lot of times it ends up being the same as delta for example.

they have their place but you gotta compare to see if it's even worth it to fly a "cheaper" one.

WTF? I don't remember ever paying for none of that? Are those fees and taxes dependent upon where you're from/flying from?

I would think not

She flew out of Harrisburg which is not a huge airport…the airfare itself isn’t too bad

But the cost of baggage and seat selection is criminal

Expensive. I guess because you're not at a large hub cuz tickets from NYC to Iceland are less early in the year

Southwest boarding is a **** show

I read an article regarding this, a hedge fund been buying up company stock and pressuring changes for better profit margins

They are gonna change the layout of their planes. A third of the seat of the planes are gonna have increased legroom, and there will an upcharge for that. And usually when that happens they are gonna lower the leg room of regular seats

Also, I would think the checked bag policy is gonna get changed too eventually
