"The Russians sank a Hong Kong freighter last month, killing the seven Chinese seamen on board. We can live with that-Lenin and Stalin were once theideological mentors of all Chinese people. The Japanese planted a flag on Diàoyú Island. That's no big problem-we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons,Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke.

But hold on-even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with ablatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason:there are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As anation of servants, you don't flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.

As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from theUniversity of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she hadbetter tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.

Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would notrisk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she wouldpay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings.

Oh yes. The government of the Philippines would certainly be wrong if they think we Chinese are prepared to swallow their insult and sit back and lose aFalkland Islands War in the Far East. They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes inthe Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout "China,Madam/Sir" loudly whenever they hear the word "Spratly." They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout,"Long live Chairman Mao!" at the sight of a portrait of our Great Leader during the Cultural Revolution. I'm not sure if that's going a bittoo far, at least for the time being."

MANILA, Philippines-The Bureau of Immigration banned Chip Tsao from entering the country after the Hong Kong journalist called the Philippines a "nationof servants."

"This is our manifestation of disgust against the racial slur and insult committed by Mr. Chip against us as a people," Immigration CommissionerMarcelino Libanan said Tuesday.

Libanan also chided the Hong Kong journalist for his "arrogance and disrespect to the country and the Filipino people."

He said Chip would only be removed from the blacklist if he will make a public apology adding that he would even offer to personally tour the Hong Kongcolumnist around the country "to show him that the Philippines is not a 'nation of servants' but a nation of professionals."

not only is this a cheap shot but also a blatant insult to filipinas/filipinos working overseas.nobody aspires to become a Dh.you would never come across ayoung pinoy child saying "i want to become a yaya when i grow up".what mr. tsao fails to see is the will and determination these same people heundermines exudes.not everybody has the fortitude to swallow their pride & eek out a living doing mind & body numbing work abroad.is it our fault someof mr. tsao's countrymen consider household chores & taking care of their own children below them?something they would not touch even with a 10 footchinese pole?filipino workers are willing to scrap & gut it out all across the world even at the expense of physical & in this case verbal abuse of thelocals in pursuit of attaining a respectable life for them & their families back home.i hate the fact that mr. tsao is suggesting the notion that we are anation of slaves capable of only physical labor and minimal tasks.i can't wait for the day when mr. tsao is so old he won't even be able to wipe hisown behind and would have to be put up in a nursing home.then to his surprise,be surrounded by a slew of pinoy nurses, doctors & other world class medicalpersonnel.that sight might be too much for his angry, bitter little heart to handle.

definitely deserves a *#$*+ slap for bein' a *#$*+. chyea! brown & proud!

i wanna kick mr. tsao's !%+, if i' will see him in person, i'll punch him instantly...
