Someone get this message to Durant Westbrook please. Thx in advance.
Durant sign a one year deal to stay on okc. If you win championship next year great stay long term. If not you and Westbrook take 20 mil each from bulls next year and get to play with Jimmy Butler. Sleep on it

    Bulls GMs
Trade Gibson and mitotic to move up in draft get a young C sabonis or Poeltl that plus portis McDermott, Lopez, grant and Butler and at least 40 mil cap space would be a good option for 2 superstar free agents who very likely will be looking for a new team a year from now. The head coach might be the only issue with making this happen.

living outside of philly here, im shocked that bulls didnt at least talk to the sixers about okafor. all i hear here is that sixers are entertaining offers for okafor.

Rose was playing for himself under Hoidbergs system. I think the trade was done cause Rose doesn't respect Hoideberg. Both parties mutually agreed to part ways. Rose gets traded to his top target, and the bulls get a replacement center as well as a young player to groom and a backup guard.

Easily, his contract is a bargain with the new salary cap. We needed a center and signing Biyombo or Whiteside would have cost way more than RoLo's contract.

My initial reaction is of dismay.  But then I realize Drose could very well hurt himself again trying to play up his value and then we get stuck with worse than peanuts.  May as well go all in on the tank and get some assets while you can.  I really liked Drose before, not just because of the breakneck pace that he would attack the basket with and finishing the most ridiculous circus shots.  He genuinely seemed like a humble dude and his lack of eloquence when speaking to the media was endearing actually even though he'd get criticized for his lack of education and whatnot.  That changed once he started talking about free agency, life after playing basketball, etc. etc.  As much as I hate to admit it but he certainly checked out of the Bulls organization and his inner circle did him no favors by telling him to carry himself as he has done recently.  Hell he was in the news for running a train on a girl with his boys and other wild stuff.  I mean what a man does in his personal time is his prerogative, but this dude was quickly becoming an albatross on this team.  I'd say this is the end of an era but really the Rose era ended after 2012.  We've just been in a state of slow-death limbo and I for one am relieved they finally pulled the plug.  I wish Drose the best no player has got me as excited for basketball like he did since AI but when Chi faces NY I hope Jimmy Buckets locks him up and puts his *** in a wheelchair.

I totally agree ^ There's a lot people saying that we should have made the trade mid-season but you never know with Rose he might get hurt again. For a guy to play 39% of the games scheduled games after receiving a five year extension is terrible. Then he goes into talking about free agency during media day basically saying I'm playing for contract after you barely played he was in it for his self. Why wait for the inevitable, I didn't see him coming back in 2017 the front wasn't going to give him another contract after his checkered injury history and he didn't want to be here either.

Well I'm glad that most of the Bulls fam here has taken some time to really analyze this move and have already moved past it.
Extra happy that I see a lot of y'all maintaining the course and not quick to jump ship....some clowns in the NBA thread already pledging allegiance to the Knicks :smh: :smh: that's just despicable!
Out of all the teams Bulls fans should hate...the Knicks are at the top of the list.

Excited to see what happens tonight at the draft. Is Butler getting moved? Are we filling in needs or drafting the best available player? We've been fortunate to get some real good gems in the bottom half of the draft.

Quite Frankly, I'd like to see a combo of Jimmy, Niko and Doug. I felt that both Niko and Doug needed more touches last season and still have the same sentiments. If we move Jimmy for the 3rd, I'd like to grab Buddy Hield if ingram isn't still available. If we get the 5th from minny, ,I'd like to have Zach Lavine thrown in there.

I'll be paying close attention to whom the bulls draft. For Jerian Grant, they are high on him and let's see. Of course, Butler will be the dominant ball handler so Bulls won't be looking for a pure point guard. A solid 3 point shooter, can run the break, plays good tempo for Hoi berg. If that guy doesn't fall to Chicago, possibly a big who can ,un the floor and solid passer and screens.

At least they understood that they have to go young and athletic!!!

I don't like what the Celtics have to offer to be honest. 5th and Lavine, Muhammad wolud be ok but I still would be skeptical.

Doug and Niko are not ready to start both of them are defensive liabilites, I feel like your only allowed to one of those in the starting lineup.

I wish KD would come to the Bulls but the odds of that are the same odds of Miracle Watts marrying me; not in this world.

Vertical Sources: Chicago and Minnesota talks for Jimmy Butler broke down. Bulls wanted Zach LaVine, not Ricky Rubio.

Part of me wanted Chris Dunn. If we could've moved Jimmy for Lavine and the 5th, I would drafted Dun and made him our guard and slide LAvine to SG. Oh well, we can keep dreaming for KD.

They got to find a way to get rid of Dunleavy and Snell. I think they should still go after Barnes though, him at the three butler at the 2 and Valentine at the one

Looks like Butler is staying. I feel like this is a colossal mistake. Jimmy has to know that they were actively trying to trade him and now probably feels even more alienated. So he'll end up leaving and we get nothing. I would have much rather tanked this season and got a lottery pick.

Also it was reported the Wolves/Bulls talk was just Thibs trying to get back at the Bulls. :smh:

^^^what are you talking about? Butler has 4 years left on his contract he can't leave for nothing. Butler can be a 25 a game guy next year, if we strike out in free agency next year then I can see bulls trading butler

If gibson is on the team bulls will have.
    Lopez
    Gibson/Portis
    Butler
    Denzel
    Grant

Gibson is a free agent after next season bulls, I can see a playoff team giving us a 1st round pick at trade deadline for him.

I want to see one more season of Snell....there is talent there...
let the young guys play develop see what we have

I'm saying the Bulls are ultimately not gonna be in contention for the remainder of Jimmy's contract so he'll most likely walk and we won't get compensated for him.
